This particular job I was working on had a very pressing deadline with local and interstate shoots needed to be done within 5 days while working around my already booked jobs. Here are the photos of 2 of the jobs. I ended up shooting one of the trucks from Midnight to 5am 2 hours drive out of Brisbane (see he shots at the end of this post), and another having the national fleet manager of a major trucking company meet me at 5am to drive the truck along the local freeway then be available to manoeuvre the truck for hero shots during sunrise at the depot.
One aspect of my truck photography I really enjoy is working with people with a “can do” attitude. Truck drivers problem solve as part of their everyday working life. They have to get their big vehicle from A to B sometimes through narrow streets, various obstacles, navigate past car drivers who have no comprehension of of the weight and distance needed to stop a B-Double. These two shoots definitely had that element.
Working with speedlights in the space of four hours, we made some seinsational images with the first company. Even using something I had though about for a while to light the truck that ended up being One Big Reflector!
This next shoot was to cover the transport of a massively heavy transformer that required 5 trucks to transport ot from the Hunter Valley in NSW to Brisbane for a service (Yes just a service). I really could’ve done with the extra 2 stops with the Nikon D3s as the D3 was really at it’s limits. It was a moonless night miles from city lights so I can’t really complain.

Getting the load ready to head out

Very impressive work.
Nice images! Im a fan of your favourite as well. I do a lot of car photography but crikey i’ve never tried a truck like that! Certainly something different.
keep it up.
