Newcastle Speedlight Talk

On July 12, 2010, in acmp, by Gavin Blue

Photographers love industry events that are social, inspiring and affordable. Whenever I travel somewhere I look at the possibility of creating an ACMP event with either myself or somebody I “volunteer” to be the speaker.

I wanted to head up to Newcastle to catch up with my brother who is an award winning architect there so I thought I would see if there was any interest in creating an event. There are only a few ACMP members in town and I contacted Steve Scalone who owns studio 38. He very generously offered the venue. I posted on flickr and there was a great deal of interest to the point we had a full house.

I did my speedlight talk where I talked about my career and then invited a lucky soul from the audience to be my subject for me to demonstrate the capabilities of both Nikon and Canon Speedlights.

A video version of the talk done in Melbourne can be found here (without the demonstration)

Also, check out the ACMP events pages for upcoming events
